Triple R wins Appeal.

James's appeal, which was meant to be heard before the final round at Hampton Downs, was heard after the final round.  James's points were given back to him, which was a bitter sweet win.

If this hearing had been heard before the final round, as it should have been, then James's tactics for the Hampton round would have been completely different. But, what is done is done. This can't be changed, but the procedure can be changed, so that this does not happen again.

I just want to thank both Robbie and James for all the effort they have put in during the season. It is not easy riding 2 classes, but James did very well, and I am sure is going to be a rear force next season, been able to just concentrate on Superbikes.

TESTING NEWS: 2009/2010
We just completed a 1 day test on Friday 18th December with Robbie at Ruapuna on the new Suzuki GSXR 1000 K9 Superbike. This was his first ride of this bike and Robbie managed to do over 50 laps during the day.

We still have a little bit of a way to go, to get the setting exactly how we want, but we are close to it, if a time under the lap record is anything to go by. So, we feel we achieved some fine results and know we have a great bike to work from, for the up coming Nationals this summer.

James Smith was up north racing the 600 at the 1st round of the Suzuki Tri Series at Manfield on the weekend. It was a pity that I had not finished prepping the bike properly, so poor James had to push an unperforming bike to it's limits. He managed to qualify 2nd, but, with the bike down on power (basically by 20hp)...... he was getting absolutely hammered on the straights.

So, that is what happens when you rush the final tuning when trying to get things ready for racing....... you make some mistakes which can cost your riders.
So, luckily it was now and not the Nationals. So, for the Street race on Boxing day, the bike should be back to 90% of it's potential (instead of 60%...!!!...). And when James brings it back down home, I will finish the job off properly and by the Nationals, the bike will be spot on.

So, the fun continues.

Triple R wishes everyone a great Christmas and Happy New Years. See you all at the racing in 2010.
